17th July 2006Mrs Murray walked away a winner as she took home B&Q vouchers that will help kick-start her summer plans for the garden.Water companies across the south and east of England and the Environment Agency have teamed up with leading home improvement retailer B&Q to offer great prizes to customers in a bid to raise awareness about the drought situation and spread the water conservation message.Mrs Murray from Milton has won £100 in B&Q vouchers in the monthly draw, presented by Portsmouth Water.Andy Neve, Portsmouth Water's Technical Director, said: “We were pleased to be working together with B&Q to be able to offer Mrs Murray these vouchers to help get her garden ready for the summer. The feedback we receive from the questionnaires is valuable to help us better understand our customers' water use habits”. “Whilst the weather in Hampshire and the south western fringes of West Sussex has not been as dry as further north and east, Portsmouth Water is keen to encourage customers to be conservative in their use of water. Each year demand from householders continues to rise and we want to help customers find ways to halt that rise and so provide enough sustainable supplies for future generations. The free magazine filled with top tips to use water wisely in the garden and around the house this summer was distributed to customers in B&Q stores in the Portsmouth Water region.
