WaterAid
Every
day over one billion people take their lives in their hands because of
unsafe water and inadequate sanitation. To help alleviate this problem
a charity was set up by the people and organisations of the British water
industry in 1981. The charity is called WaterAid.
WaterAid
has helped more than 4 million people gain access to safe water since
the organisation was created. Even with the help of WaterAid, across the
world a child dies every eight seconds from water related diseases.
WaterAid is the UKs only charity specialising in water supply, sanitation
and hygiene education work in the developing world - supporting local
people in their efforts to plan, build, manage and maintain their own
low cost safe water and sanitation systems.
So far our customers have contributed over £150,000 to the charity.
Contributions
to the charity can be made bysending a donation to:
WATER AID Donation
P O Box 8
West Street, Havant,
Hants. PO9 1LG
With this method all cheques should be made
payable to Portsmouth Water Ltd
There is no administrative charge by Portsmouth Water with all donations
received being passed to the charity.
