Portsmouth Water is inviting local residents to a community drop-in event at Havant Rugby Club on Wednesday 20 May, from 5pm to 8pm.
The event offers customers the opportunity to speak directly with the team about key local projects and services. Topics will include the Havant Thicket Reservoir, including the new pipelines being installed, smart water metering, and the range of support schemes and tariffs available to customers.
Visitors can drop in at any time to ask questions and find out more about these initiatives.
Bob Taylor, Chief Executive Officer at Portsmouth Water, said: “As a local company with a long history of serving our community, speaking to our customers face-to-face remains incredibly important to us.
“That’s why we’re running more community drop-in events, particularly in areas where major projects are taking place. In Havant, not only are we delivering the Havant Thicket Reservoir – the first major new UK reservoir in more than 30 years – we’ve also started work to install new pipelines that will fill and draw water from the reservoir. We’ve been working closely with local communities and taken steps to minimise disruption wherever possible, including using innovative micro-tunnelling techniques to avoid digging up roads and pavements.
“In addition, we’re in the process of rolling out smart water meters to our customers. This will help households across our supply area detect leaks earlier and better understand and reduce their water use.
“We know people will have questions as these projects progress and we’re absolutely committed to keeping them informed. We’re really looking forward to the event and would encourage anyone who would like to speak with us to come along.”
The event is free to attend, with no booking required.
